This inforgraphic shows statistics from the Guttmacher Institute, the U.S. Census, and Map Nerd Consulting. Abortion access has been decreasing over the years and is expected to continue to decrease, in turn directly impacts the safety of those seeking out abortions. There is also a map showing the number of abortion clinics per state for the year of 2017.

Abortion Access in the U.S.

Even with Roe v. Wade in effect, abortion providers and abortion clinician numbers have been decreasing over the years. The U.S. will see a more drastic decline in these numbers in 2022 and onwards.

Map Nerd Consulting condemns the decision about Roe v. Wade and supports all people’s basic human rights for access to safe health care. There has been a lot of information about abortions in the U.S., and to help make it more digestible, we’ve designed the following infographic summarizing some important statistics. Data and information is from the Guttmacher Institute and the U.S. Census Bureau.
